On April 8, 2004, the Kladruber mares, Regazza and Rabieta drove to Stanford University from Woodside with the original Leland Stanford family C-spring Brewster Landau (1885)*, a distance of approximately eight miles, to attend the Founders Day ceremony at the Stanford Mausoleum. They picked up "Mr and Mrs Leland Stanford" regaled in period costume at the Oval and took them to the Mausoleum for the ceremony. The horses acquitted themselves with elegance, beauty and obedience. Their behaviour was exemplary which is an excellent reflection of the training and their own ability as a breed. They then turned around and went home, driving a total distance of 19 miles in a day.
* N.B. Dr Peter Bullock has taken care of this carriage since 1990 and annually 'reports for duty' at this University event.
